Here's the image that will be used for the compilation.
Quite appropriate, considering the lack of enthusiasm from you lot out there, here's what I have at present:
BUTCH HANCOCK - Leo Y Leona (spunkyonions)
CHILLI & THE BARACUDAS - Midnite Blues (nekrodad)
FRED EAGLESMITH - 105 (Lirkin Leach)
JOSH WARD - A Cowboy Can (Moe)
LOS CORONAS & ARIZONA BABY - Wish You Were Here (Cacá.revolutionrock)
WILLIAM CLARK GREEN - Dead Or In Jail (Berni)
If VILASMORA wants the non existent Commander Cody track on the comp, you'd best send it to me via email.
Will take suggestions from anyone who feels inclined to do so.
I am not a library nor museum, so if I don't have the track, you'll have to send it to me.
no suggestions - enjoy your DJ'ing keep em coming
ReplyDeleteLol, no worries, this comp will get done eventually.
DeleteI actually want it to go a little slower. I'm trying to keep up!
DeleteIt is going slow, not exactly getting inundated with suggestions.
DeleteGot sent JAMES McMURTRY AND THE HEARTLESS BASTARDS - Choctaw Bingo (Live) for the comp, so that now gives me 7 tracks.
first post... somehow felt called to add a piece of thought...
ReplyDeletelet me say that i've been following twangsville revisited for quite a while now and that i truly admire and appreciate all the great work you put into this.
for my part i'd love to see something from chuck mead on the compilation. as far as i can tell he's been on a twangsville comp only once so far (#6 on volume 96). i've seen him live and i can sure tell you guys this man rocks the house...
as to my suggestion i'd shoot for something from his 2014 album, e.g. 'on a slow train through arkansas', 'evil wind' or 'sittin' on top of the bottom'.
'free state serenade' (2014) and 'journeyman's wager' (2009) can be found at http://tiny.cc/cmead
(true 320kbps cbr)
i'll be happy if this contribution adds to volume 119 wich hopefully will get done sooner or later...
cheers
c
Glad you did and thanks for the kind words regarding the blog.
DeleteYou're quite right, Chuck Mead has only appeared once.
Thanks heaps for the link, have grabbed both albums.
As for your contribution, I've selected 'Evil Wind' to appear on the comp, gives me 8 tracks now, so slowly but surely getting this comp together.
Do you have a name I can use as a contributor apart from 'Anonymous C'.
I second that on Chuck Mead, saw him in BR-549 in a dive joint when Donnie Herron and Chris Scruggs were in the band. One of the best shows I've ever seen, people were stamping on the floor & whooping and hollering; it was that good.
DeleteIf I'm allowed seconds, Br-549 Cherokee Boogie's a good tune.
You will be allowed seconds if Plan B comes into effect.
Deletesort of saw this one coming ;-)
ReplyDelete'c...' being my real name i'm not gonna spell it out here but you can call me 'greyhound', one of my more frequent nicks (if this isn't taken yet by anyone else...?). a dog as well - but not barking all that much...
and yeah, 'evil wind' is certainly a good choice, one of my favourites. i'll leave the two mead albums up for some time for others to get a hold of them as well.
and just a tiny bit of 'barking' at this point: really sad not more of all those readers and leechers (!) out there feeling any need to contribute but let's be optimistic you'll get volume 119 up and rolling in fair time.
as to me, i'd sure have one or two more ideas...
cheers
c aka greyhound
greyhound it is.
DeleteAppreciate you leaving the links up, am sure there will be others who would like to the albums.
It is a bit disappointing with the lack of response, am more surprised though.
The comp will get done eventually, I do have a Plan B.
How about Ken Tizzard w Bad Intent - Don't Be Surprised
ReplyDeleteNo worries and real happy you made a contribution.
DeleteCan get the track @ 192k, would you have a better quality version you can get to me??
